Orka Wrestling League Official Rules
The Orka Wrestling League (OWL) brings a modern, competitive, entertainment-powered wrestling format for both men and women. OWL combines athletic wrestling, controlled-contact moves, team-based scoring, and a transparent player auction system. All athletes must follow the rules listed below for safety, fairness, and sportsmanship.
1. League Format
1.1 Team Structure
Each Franchise Team consists of 12 wrestlers:
Men (6 Wrestlers)

Women (6 Wrestlers)
- 50 kg
- 53 kg
- 57 kg

Match-Day Active Squad

2. Player Registration & Eligibility
2.1 Eligibility
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Must complete OWL registration
- Must upload valid ID
- Must pass medical screening
- Must agree to OWL Safety & Conduct Agreement
- Must participate in OWL Trials to qualify for Auction
2.2 Required Documents
- Government ID
- Age proof
- Medical fitness certificate
- Wrestling achievement certificates (optional)
3. Trials & Qualification Process
OWL Trials are mandatory for EVERY registered wrestler.
3.1 Trial Evaluations
Athletes are tested on:
- Grappling Technique
- Defense & Escape
- Strength & Conditioning
- Safe Power Moves
- Control & Ground Skills
- Match IQ & Strategy
- Promo / Mic Skill
- Ring Psychology
- Discipline & Conduct
3.2 Qualification to Auction
- There is NO minimum points requirement.
- Top athletes from every weight category qualify for the Auction.

3.3 Trial Score Sheet
Each wrestler receives an OWL Trials Evaluation Sheet (PDF) with breakdown scores.
4. Player Auction / Bid System
Every qualified wrestler is placed into one of the four bid categories.
4.1 Bid Categories & Base Prices
- A Category – $35,000
- B Category – $20,000
- C Category – $10,000
- D Category – $6,000
4.2 Category Assignment Based On
- Trial Ranking
- Weekly Performance Video Score
- Technical Judges’ Evaluation
- Experience & Career Achievements
- Social Engagement Score
4.3 Auction Rules
- Teams must stay within OWL Salary Cap
- Bidding is open category-wise
- Highest bidder signs wrestler for the season
- Both men and women are included in the same auction format
5. Weekly Player Video Upload (MANDATORY)
All wrestlers must upload weekly performance content for ranking and category maintenance.
5.1 Allowed Video Types
- Wrestling drills
- Sparring clips
- Power/strength training
- Technical skill development
- Promo / mic performance videos
5.2 Video Rules
- Duration: 30 sec – 5 min
- No music or copyrighted audio
- Cannot be uploaded on any other social platform
- Maximum 4 uploads per month eligible for scoring
5.3 Video Points
- Weekly Upload: +10 points
- Monthly Featured Video: +50 points

6. Match Rules & Format
6.1 Number of Bouts
Every team match includes 8 bouts:
- 4 Men’s bouts
- 4 Women’s bouts
6.2 Match Duration
Total: 12 minutes
- Round 1: 6 minutes
- Round 2: 6 minutes
Break: 90 seconds
6.3 Victory Methods

- Submission
- Technical Superiority
- Points Win
- Referee Stoppage
- Opponent Disqualification
7. Legal & Illegal Moves
OWL follows a controlled-contact wrestling system for safety.
7.1 Allowed Moves
- Takedowns
- Mat control
- Holds & locks
- Safe, controlled power moves
- Lifts & throws approved in OWL Move Safety Book
- Signature moves (pre-approved)
7.2 Illegal Moves
- Neck-drop slams
- Direct head spikes
- Punching / kicking to head
- Eye gouging
- Hair pulling
- Groin attacks
- Any weapon use
- Unapproved dives or flips
- Outside interference
Referee may stop the match immediately for safety.
8. Team Scoring System
Points awarded per bout:
8.1 Bout Result Points
- Pinfall Win: +6
- Submission Win: +5
- Technical Superiority: +4
- Win by Points: +3
- Draw: +1
- Loss: 0
8.2 Bonus Points
- Clean Signature Move Execution: +1
- Comeback Round Win: +1
8.3 Penalties
- Illegal Move: -1
- Referee Warning: -1
- Team Interference: -3
Team with highest total points wins the match.
9. Season Ranking System
Rankings calculated based on:
- Match wins
- Team scoring points
- Bonus points
- Player performance index
- Weekly video score
- Fan engagement score
Top 4 teams advance to Playoffs.
10. Safety & Medical Regulations
- Mandatory pre-match medical check
- Immediate stoppage for injury
- Strict concussion protocol
- Only approved moves allowed
- Medical team present ringside
- Any unsafe behavior leads to fines or suspension
11. Code of Conduct
All participants must follow OWL’s Code of Conduct:
- No unsportsmanlike behavior
- No disrespect to referees, officials, or staff
- No backstage fights
- No abusive language
- Bad conduct may lead to:
- Warnings
- Fines
- Suspension
- Disqualification
